Key bindings managed by the Openbox window manager are customized in the file ~/.config/openbox/rc.xml
Look at the present key bindings to understand the syntax.
$ openbox --restart After editing the config file to apply the changes.
To setup custom hotkeys available on your keyboard, find out what keycode the hotkey triggers, map this keycode to a human readable key name and use it in normal key bindings as described above.
Use package xev to find the keycodes.
$ xev and hit hotkeys to figure out their keycodes.
Map the keycodes in the file ~/.xmodmaprc with the following syntax: keycode 121 = F14
$ xmodmap ~/.xmodmaprc To apply the changes.
Use the mapped key names to add key bindings in Openbox window manager, as described above.
On most laptops, key bindings for screen back-light brightness control are auto detected according to the keyboard of the computer. If not, follow the back-light brightness tutorial.
