Installation

This guide covers how to install a computer from scratch to a fully configured OpenStudio desktop environment. It is divided into three parts to guide you through the whole configuration process:

The latest version of OpenStudio desktop is built for the 64-bit version of Debian 9 Stretch; The stable branch of the Debian operating system. It will install and run on x86_64 compatible computers.

Before installation, read the Terminology documentation and if you are new to the Linux command line, use the Terminal Usage Guide as a reference.

Getting started after installation

Anyone using OpenStudio desktop will benefit from reading the user interface documentation. It covers techniques to handle windows, launch applications and customize your user experience.

Keeping the system up to date

Once installed and configured, use Software Center to install more applications and to keep your system up to date with the latest security upgrades.
