The OpenStudio desktop environment is configured with a post-installation script. It contains no packages of its own, but once executed it will download and install the directory /usr/share/openstudio with a few scripts, themes and configuration files. It will also install several packages from the Debian repositories and make changes to system configuration files in order to build its environment. If you want to examine the openstudio script before using it; Download as described below and review it in a text editor.
When the computer has booted you will be presented with a login prompt. Login with your recently created user name and its password.
After login, change user to the root (admin) accout:
$ su root To become root.
Before configuration you need to download the openstudio post-installation script.
# cd /usr/bin Navigate to /usr/bin directory.
# wget http://www.openstudio.se/desktop/source/openstudio Download the openstudio script.
# chmod 755 openstudio Make the script executable.
# openstudio To start system configuration and just follow instructions provided by the script to complete it.
After completing configuration of the system and its user account(s); Reboot the computer with # shutdown -r now and start using OpenStudio desktop.
